Description:
the Steamboat is invented by Robert Fulton in 1807 the Steamboat transportation was more efficient than wind-powered boats and could travel upstream more quickly.
Transportation and trade improved.Western farm products to the East.
The National Road – Constructed with tax money from protective tariffs ran east to west
Benefited the North, frustrated the South
Made it easier for more people to move west
Eastern manufactured goods to the west. Railroads & roads [& canals] led to economic growth after the east & west coasts were joined by the Trans Continental Railroad.
