The Renaissance (1500–1600) (jan 1, 1501 – jan 1, 1600)

Description:

Also called the “Early Modern” period, it is subdivided into four parts:
The Elizabethan Age (1558–1603), known as the golden age of English drama, with authors such as Christopher Marlowe, Francis Bacon, Edmund Spenser, and William Shakespeare;
The Jacobean Age (1603–1625), with authors like John Donne, Michael Drayton, John Webster, Elizabeth Cary, and Lady Mary Wroth;
The Caroline Age (1625–1649), with John Milton, Robert Burton, and George Herbert; And the Commonwealth Period (1649–1660), with the closure of public theaters due to the Civil War and the restoration of the Stuart monarchy, caused the political writings of John Milton, Thomas Fuller, Abraham Cowley, and Andrew Marvell flourished.
