Middle English Period
(1066–1500) (jan 1, 1066 – jan 1, 1500)
Description:
England's transition in language, culture, and lifestyle is represented by the develpment of “modern” English.
Eventhough much of the Middle English writings were religious, from about 1350 onward, a rise on secular literature began. Among the representatives of this period we can find Chaucer, William Langland, Thomas Malory, and Robert Henryson.
