 Founded by Pulakeshin I - shifted capital to Badami
 Kirtivarman conquered Goa (Revatidveepa)
Kirtivarman II, Chalukya ruler was defeated by the Rashtraakuta king,
Dantidurga (746 AD – 753 AD)

 Later, Pulakeshin II ascended throne 609CE
 Symbol was wild boar (“varaha”)
 Known for Vesara Temple architecture

 Prolonged war with Pallavas.

Pulakesin II defeats Harsha. Earns the title “Parameswaran”.

 Badami later conquered by Narasimha Varman I (“Vatapikonda”) in 642CE killing Pulakesin II


 Later revived by Vikramaditya I (“Rajamalla”) by defeating Narasimha
