Second Battle of Cold Harbor (may 31, 1864 – jun 12, 1864)
Description:
Starting on May 31, 1864 Ulysses S Grant made his approach to Lee leading to heavy losses on both sides. Both armies made it to the crossroads of cold harbor, in which the battle earned its name, at the same time. Seeing this as an opportunity Grant progressed thinking there was a way to destroy Lee. The Union did not get their on time causing a loss of time and the confederacy to get ready for the attack and to approach forward. With this inconvenience of time cost the loss of the Union and gave Grant a sense of loss and making him want to try harder.Information: history.com
