Leonardo’s Robot by Leonardo DaVinci (jan 1, 1495 – dec 31, 1495)
Description:
Created by Leonardo DaVinci in 1495, the first humanoid automaton robot was made with a series of pulleys and cables that imitated human-like movements. This early version of a robot was designed to stand, sit, move its arms and its jaw, and greet the visitors at the Italian Renaissance nobleman’s, Ludovico Sforza’s, celebrations. Leonardo’s robot wore German-Italian medieval armor that hid its inner pulleys and cables.
