Indian Removal Act 1830 (feb 3, 1830 – oct 19, 1833)
Description:
Indian removal act-more than 46,000 Native Americans were forced to abandon their homes and relocate to the ¨Indian Territory¨ that eventually became the state of Oklahoma. More than 4,000 people died on that journey due to disease, starvation, and exposure to extreme wheater.
Worcester v Georgia- Ruled in favor of the Cherokees but Jackson did not intend to carry out the court's ruling.
