Description:
The Ekranoplan was an incredibly large plane/boat. The largest plane ever built and could carry more than anything ever before it, 544 tons. It achieved these unheard of numbers through the anomaly of the ground effect which is the extra lift a plane receives just before it lands. The ekranoplan flew in the ground effect about 10 meters above the water. This made it able to travel out of sonar and over water mines and at a speed of over 500 km.Added to timeline:
