The Cold War (jan 1, 1947 – jan 1, 1991)

Description:

After WWII Russia and American rose as the two superpowers of the world. Because of this they were constantly competing for power and tensions grew. During this time nuclear was a huge threat as both countries had fueled ICBMs and nuclear bombers in the air at all times. If one country made even a move all out nuclear war would ensue, most likely destroying the world as we know it. Thankfully it never amounted to anything more than threats and a couple of close calls. This period ended quickly with the collapse of the Soviet Union.
