James Chadwick (England) (jan 1, 1891 – jan 1, 1974)
Description:
He said that the nucleus of the atom contained neutrally charged neutrons along with the protons in it, which had a similar mass to the protons. He was the first to discover neutrons and it helped to explain how isotopes were possible.
He learned from his experiment which bombarded beryllium with alpha particles, which discovered Ernest Rutherford’s missing neutral particles.
