Description:
Cause: U.S. government worried European powers encroach on U.S. sphere of influence by making colonial territories in Americas
Effect:
- French Revolution
- Britain and U.S. warned of attack if Europe attempted to recolonize Latin America
- Britain and U.S. not allow anyone to take over Latin America and both protected it
- U.S stay out of European affairs if Britain stayed out of Western hemisphere
