18th century - settlers went beyond appalachians. Many tribes formed the Northwest/Western Confederacy. fought against American militia. Americans were angered at English help with arms and weapons so an army defeated the tribes in the battle of Fallen Timers. resulted in Americans gaining massive tracts of land.Added to timeline:
