Description:
Cause: response to Pontiac's Rebellion. Closed down colonial expansion westward beyond Appalachia.Effect: affect all thirteen colonies. Colonists reacted with anger and defiance as they hoped to reap the benefits with access to western lands. They defied the prohibition by streaming westward beyond the line drawn by the British.
