James Chadwick (jan 1, 1891 – jan 1, 1974)
Description:
James Chadwick (1891-1974) was an English physicist that discovered the presence of the neutron in the nucleus of an atom through his experimentation (1932) in which he bombarded beryllium atoms with alpha particles, a subsequent result of which was an unknown radiation, interpreted by Chadwick as a neutrally-charged particle the same size as a proton, which became known as a neutron.
