China's Great Leap Forward and Famine (jan 1, 1959 – jan 1, 1961)

Description:

The Great Leap Forward was the Communist campaign to help with the industrial problems and the agricultural problems. Machines were invented and things were changed to help make more items and food. China shipped out a lot of what was made and produced and the people thought they had a lot more than they had. This led to the great famine. Another component was natural disasters that ruined crops. During the Great Famine, people starved to death.
