Description:
John Dalton was an English philosopher that lived from 1766-1844. Dalton's Atomic Theory (1808) stated that elements are pure (one-of-a-kind) and consist of atoms; that all atoms of an element have the same mass; and that all elements are different. Additionally, he defined "compound" and said they have a fixed ratio of atoms and that chemical reactions involve rearranging of combination of atoms.Added to timeline:
