Middle Ages (Pre-Crusades) (jan 1, 500 – may 26, 1096)

Description:

No central government to speak of, instead depending on Feudalism. Serfs depended on lords to protect them as they worked the land. Subsistence farming was the focus and thus very little focus on education. The Catholic Church was one large unifying force in the Middle Ages which gave some education through their many monasteries. Northern invaders were constantly attacking which led to the development of very few cities, due to the inability to create a force to defend said cities.
