French and Indian War (apr 17, 1754 – feb 10, 1763)
Description:
The French and Indian War was a conflict between British and French colonists over their land interests in North America. British forces, captained by George Washington attempted to expel the French in 1754, but were far outnumbered. The French retaliated and the conflict spiraled into a full scale war. After years of war in the Americas and Europe, the French surrendered to the British with the Treaty of Paris (1763) which forfeited French land in North America.
