The Cold War (sep 2, 1945 – nov 1, 1989)

Description:

The Cold War is the name historians use for the mistrust and bad feeling between the communist USSR and its allies, and the USA and its allies after the end of World War II. This lasted until two key events: 1) the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989; and the dissolution of USSR territories in the early 1990s. During this time, there was a very real danger of nuclear war between these two powers. However, although there were proxy wars, in which allies/territories of the USSR and USA fought each other, these two superpowers never went to war with each other.
