2. It was a series of violent civil confrontations in Kansas, Territory and it emerged from a political and ideological debate over legality of slavery
3. A direct result of the Kansas-Nebraska Act, "bleeding Kansas" can be seen as a radical action committed by both sides in which anti-slavery and pro-slavery settlers were killed in order to gain control of the territories.
