Susan B Anthony (jan 1, 1892 – jan 1, 1900)

Description:

Susan B Anthony was not only a key figure in women rights but also the rights of factory worker and child labor. Anthony was an educated woman and took a large stance against slavery. Along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Anthony fought for women's right to vote, i.e. women's suffrage. Anthony was the vice president as well as the president of the Nation Woman Suffrage Association throughout her life. SHe was president for 9 years! Anthony voted for Ulysses S Grant on November 5, 1872 which was illegal for her to do at the time so she was arrested. With still little change to women's suffrage towards the end of Susan B Anthony's life, so one needed to take over, paving the wave for Alice Paul to rise up to the challenge.
