Allied Offensive in ETO (oct 7, 1942 – may 8, 1945)
Description:
Beginning in the fall of 1942, the Allied offensive kicks off in North Africa, liberating areas under German control. The campaign pushes north through Italy, and eventually, on June 6, 1944, lands in France and begins pushing towards Berlin. With the Soviets driving in from the east, and the American and British from the west and south, Germany had enemies knocking on their door from all sides. The war in Europe officially ended on the 8th of May, 1945 with the defeat of Germany; Victory in Europe day, or VE day.
