After the death of Rurik, his young son Igor could not be a Knyaz. Therefore, Oleg became a Knyaz. He defeated the Khazars, captured Kiev, and founded a new capital there ("Kiev is the Mother of Russian cities"). Grand Knyaz Oleg led a general Scythian campaign against Constantinople and forced the Byzantine Emperor to pay tribute. He died in 912 from a venomous snake bite.
После смерти Рюрика его малолетний сын Игорь не мог быть князем. Поэтому князем стал Олег, родственник Рюрика. Он разгромил хазар, захватил Киев и основал там новую столицу ("Киев - мать городов русских"). Великий князь Олег возглавил общий скифский поход на Константинополь и заставил византийского императора платить дань. Он умер в 912 году от укуса ядовитой змеи.
