Chinese Civil War (aug 10, 1945 – may 1, 1950)
Description:
The war was fought between the nationalist party led by Chiang Kai-shek and the communist party led by Mao Zedong. In 1937, Japan invaded China and put the civil war on hold until WWII was over. The civil war resumed after WWII and ended four years later with Mao defeating Kai-shek. The nationalists fled to Taiwan and established the republic of china. Mao went on to found and become chairman of the people’s republic of China.
