Great Leap Forward and Famine (jan 1, 1958 – jan 1, 1962)
Description:
China’s Great Leap Forward was a period of time between 1958 and 1962 in which mandatory agricultural collectivization was introduced. The lives of rural Chinese were changed in doing so. The newly founded People’s Republic of China was used as a campaign by to Chinese Communist Party to promote their ideals. So many new things being introduced at once led to the Great Famine; a combination of social pressure, agricultural policies, and natural disasters are some of many things that caused it.
