Description:

Mao's great leap forward was a plan to boost China's industry and economy. He implemented ideas like communes, new ways to plant, the importance of smelting steel. All this to grow more food, and make weapons. But many of these ideas were terrible, and caused a food shortage along with terrible conditions for many citizens. This paired with propaganda illusions of superabundance, natural disasters, and the refusal of the government to admitt their mistakes killed millions of citizens.
