Montgomery Bus Boycott (dec 5, 1955 – dec 20, 1956)

Description:

This was a peaceful protest during which African AMerican residents of Montgomery, Alabama refused to ride the city buses to protest segregated seating. The major cause of this protest was the arrest of Rosa Parks four days before the boycott began for refusing to give her seat to a white man. Martin Luther King Jr, the Women's Political Council, and the Montgomery Improvement Association lead by MLK Jr. This resulted in the SUpreme Court orderign Montgomery to integrate the bus system
