mexican american war (apr 25, 1846 – feb 2, 1848)

Description:

The annexation of texas by the us angered the Mexican government, prevoking war. Mexico didn't like america's idea of manifest Destiny, America claimed texas to be their's even though the Mexican government owned that land,

mexico lost the war leading to debt, they lost lots of people, ruined their economy and lost over 50% of their land
america gained all of that land, but due to the increase in land fights over free vs slave states broke out.
