Description:
After the overthrow of the dynasty, the Republic of china was formed. This government was mostly ruled over by the Kuomintang (Nationalists) led by Chiang Kai-shek. And the Communist party, led by Mao Zedong. These two parties struggled for complete power over China, until they had to come together to fight off the Japanese invasion. Yet after WW2 ended, they continued fighting, until the CCP won, and forced the nationalists out of mainland China.Added to timeline:
