Republic of China Moves to Taiwan (dec 1, 1949 – dec 1, 1949)

Description:

While in the middle of a civil war with the Chinese communist party, the republic of China (also known as the kuomintang) relocated to the island of Taiwan. It is referred to as “The Great Retreat.” In doing so, the CCP gained the upper hand in China after having no other party to stand against them.
