The Russo-Japanese War (feb 8, 1904 – sep 5, 1905)
Description:
Russia also had interest in Manchuria and Korea like Japan, which caused tremendous tensions between the two empires. The Russo-Japanese war was the first major victory for Japan because it was the first time in modern times an Asian nation or empire defeated a European nation in war. As a result of their hard-fought victory, Japan halted all Russian expansion to the east and further established itself as a dominant power in the world.
