Counter Reformation (jan 1, 1545 – jan 1, 1563)

Description:

The Counter-Reformation was the Catholic church’s series of reforms in response to Protestantism, a response to the reformation. Lots of souls were lost during the Reformation and the church tried to regain followers by addressing abuses, corruption, final abuse and abolishing indulgences. They also began turning (forcing) new natives into Christians. Used art to convey catholic churches' message. Internal conflict (the reformation) lead to the exploitation of natives.
