War of Spanish Succesion (jul 9, 1701 – sep 7, 1714)
Description:
After the death of Spanish King Charles II, Spain was left without an heir to it's throne. The King on his deathbed did however name his successor to be his grand nephew, also grandson of Louis XIV of France. This much power in the hands of France threatened the European balance of power, and so an alliance was formed against France. In the end, the Treaty of Utrecht ended the war, and Spain was partitioned to it's rulers.Added to timeline:
