Black Plauge (jan 1, 1346 – jan 1, 1353)

Description:

The Black Plague years consisted of 75-200 million deaths worldwide and about killed 50% of the European population. It was mainly spread by rats and rodents but was through war and trading. It killed doctors, members of the clergy, rich, and poor people. Religion was affected greatly by The Black Plague, it caused some to turn away from God when nobody was getting better and no cure was found. Despite the tragedies, there were some positive outcomes, it forced new innovations, and exploration in the medical world and due to the plague lots of serfs died off, then laborers were really needed and serfdom was of high importance. Because of the sudden demand for serfs, they were able to negotiate better compensation, working conditions, and in some cases, luxury items. The death of some caused by the plague benefited others.
