Triangular Trade (jan 1, 1600 – jan 1, 1807)

Description:

Many European countries set up massive colonies primarily in africa and south america in the 15th century but the british became involved in the 16th century which was when they monopolised the sea after the treaty of Utrecht in 1713 allowing british ships to sell slaves in Spain. Opposition to slave trade steadily grew at the end of the century with the formation of groups like the Sons of Africa and the Committee for the Abolition of Slave Trade in 1787.Which lead to the abolition of slave trade in 1807.
