California Gold Rush (jan 24, 1848 – dec 31, 1885)
Description:
January 24, 1848 – 1855
When James W. Marshall found gold in Coloma, California it brought some 300,000 from the rest of US to go there. The movement of people affected native americans, diseases and made California a popular state that later became the home state of the first presidential nominee for the new Republican Party in 1856.
