The Era of Good Feelings (jan 1, 1817 – jan 1, 1825)

Description:

As a result of the Election of 1816, Monroe was elected president thus setting off the time period named "The Era of Good Feelings". During this time period, post-war nationalism had been thriving as Americans saw the end of the War of 1812 as a win and emphasizing their military prowess. Upon this, during the Election of 1816 it's beginning to show the decline of the Federalist party. This decline of the Federalist party also led to the Democratic-Republicans to stop operations as the faced almost no opposition from the Federalists. This lull in political rivalry is a part of the reason this time period is named this.
Importance—The end of Federalists is seen here and it begins the strong post-war nationalism.
Connection—The entirety of "The Era of Good Feelings" is a result of the War of 1812.
