French/Indian War (jan 1, 1754 – jan 1, 1763)

Description:

Both Britain and France had colonies in North America and they fought over the western lands. It looked like Britain was about to lose until William Pitt took over and led them to more won battles. Finally, after a long war France gave up their territory in Canada and east of the Mississippi river and England got the control. The natives didn’t like this and tried to attack the British colonies. This got stopped by the Proclamation of 1763 that forbid the natives to settle east of a line by the Appalachian Mountains.
