Description:

The Berlin Conference consisted of thirteen European powers and the United States. Its purpose was to "organize" African colonization. It aimed to set rules and regulations about international guidelines to avoid conflict during the "Scramble of Africa." The Berlin Conference allowed the European nations to make claims to different parts of Africa, disregarding the natives that were there prior to them. It took place in Berlin Germany during 18184-85.
