Harlem Renaissance (jan 1, 1920 – jan 1, 1929)
Description:
After the "Great Migration" a movement of African Americans from the rural south to the urban north (where there were jobs) a black culture began to flourish in Harlem especially. This period lead to the creation of many new forms of art as well as jazz music as well as the growing cultural freedoms of African Americans
