Election of 1800 (oct 31, 1800 – dec 3, 1800)
Description:
While both Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson were of the same party, they had very different ideas and very different ways of addressing people. After the votes tied 73-73, the election went to Congress, where they had a hard time as well. Hamilton persuaded Congress to pick Jefferson, choosing him over his friend Burr because Burr didn’t really stand for much.
