Wilson Presidency (mar 4, 1913 – mar 4, 1921)

Description:

An advocate for democracy and world peace, Woodrow Wilson led the United States through World War I. Many historian recognize him as one of the greatest presidents. He originally wished to keep the United States out of the war, but once attacks on Americans started to occur (like the Lusitania) and they learned of the Zimmerman telegram, it became evident that neutrality wasn't an option. United States involvement compensated for Russia's withdrawal and helped the Allies win the war. After the war, Wilson brought his Fourteen Points to the Paris Peace Conference. His Fourteen Points, most of which were adopted by the committee, included an outline for the League of Nations.
