The King of lower Egypt ruled rules from a town called Pe. He wore a red crown to symbolize his authority. Nekhen was the capital of a upper Egypt. In this kingdom the king wore a white cone shaped crown. Then around 3100 BC a leader named Menes rose to power in upper Egypt. He wanted to finish what scorpion a earlier king had started. Which was uniting upper and lower Egypt. So he took armies,invaded and took control of lower Egypt. He then united the two kingdoms and married a princess from lower Egypt to strengthen his power over the twio countries. He wore both the white crown of upper Egyptand the red crown of lower Egypt.
