The 2010s were another boom of the digital era with multiple innovations that made access easier than ever. Over half the global population is now connected over the Internet and it has facilitated many different facets of life that was handled in-person before, such as storage, video and audio calls, mailing, entertainment, research, education, work, etc. After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, this dependence on the Internet has dramatically increased. Relating to the evolution of cameras, this digital dependence has allowed for the development of robust software for post-production of images and simultaneous control over the camera (live streaming etc.). Additionally, it has allowed for the faster exchange of information (contributing to the development of innovative minds. Most importantly, it has allowed for the widespread use and development of smaller cameras because of the extensive use of phones with them on it.
