Description:
Son of Louis XIII, louis XIV was born September 5, 1638, Saint-Germain-en-Laye France and died September 1, 1715, Versailles, France. ruled his country, principally from his great Palace of Verailles, during one of the country’s most brilliant periods. During the early years of Louis XIV he introduced policies that further consolidated the monarchy’s power, angering nobles and legal aristocracy. In 1648 a rebellion started against the king's new ways. He and his family were forced to flee France and hide in fear. Marzarin who was lead cardinal at the time suppressed the rebellion, and make France apart of the of Europe. Acter the death of Marzarin, louis ruled without a chief minister, he thought that he was a direct representative of God.
