Chinese Civil War (15h 25min, apr 1, 1927 y – 22h 46min, may 1, 1950 y)

Description:

After the Shanghai massacre, the Chinese civil war sparked up quite quickly in the region. The civil war was a war for a fight for legitimacy between the communist party and Kuomintang. Stated as the third largest war behind World War II and World War I, this war resulted in various international affairs which still aren’t solved today. The communist party took control of most part of China while the Kuomintang took control of the island regions. The loss of the Kuomintang made two million people flee to Taiwan, creating the conflict in the nowadays time of the Republic of China and the People’s Republic of China. China became a communist country and changed a lot of international issues. USA became quite anxious, and afraid of the power China might gain with the Soviet Union, leading to a popularity of the Maxism idea. Though for the USSR, Stalin wasn’t as happy US thought it would be, since Stalin didn’t want the Cold War to spread to Asia, as China could become a leader in Communism. Most significantly, Kuomintang, now in Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China, both claim themselves as the real China. This has been a continuously unsolved issue of the recognition of Taiwan as an independent nation, since the international society can’t recognize two China’s in our world.
