Description:

The Anaconda plan was an idea given by Winfield Scott to the Union. The plan was put into use and the Anaconda plan was a naval blockade that cut off all Confederate commerce. The union also gained control of the Mississippi river but like everything, the Union eventually lost control of the Mississippi river and their naval blockade after 4 years and the confederates were able to buy and sell from others. The Anaconda plan was successful and did help the Union win the war.
