Guy Fawkes (apr 13, 1570 – jan 31, 1606)

Description:

Guy Fawkes was born in 1570 York, England and died on January 31st 1606 in England. The British man that enlisted into the spanish army in 1593, was known as a prominent military personal. In 1604 he was recruited by a servant of Robert Catesby, the leader of the Roman Catholic conspirators. He wanted to rebel against the Primarily Protestant English government. This was because the government created Penal Laws against the practice of Catholicism. Fawkes then agrees to join the group, and in 1604 plants 36 barrels of gunpowder in the cellar of the parliament. However on November 4-5 he was arrested by one of the lords that was informed by a anonymous sender. Fawkes was tortured and spilled the names of all the conspirators. In January 31st, 1606 he killed him self before his execution. However the parliament used the name of Guy Fawkes as the main subject to create a day of thanksgiving on November 6th. Naming it the Guy Fawkes day, which is now celebrated with fireworks and burning pictures of guy Fawkes every year.
