Constitutional Convention (may 25, 1787 – mar 4, 1789)

Description:

Once the colonies became their own nation, they had to come up with their own constitution. They originally started with the Articles of Confederation, but these were very flawed and they needed some revision. So, on May 25, 1787 delegates from every state were supposed to come together to discuss and rewrite the Articles of Confederation. They wrote and revised the formation of the government for about three months and then they had to work to get 9 out of the 13 states to ratify it. They finally got all of the states and agreed that the new government under this constitution was going to start on March 4, 1789.
