Description:

Louis XIII was born September 27, 1601, Fontainebleau, France and died May 14, 1643, Saint-Germain en Laye. He was a French King that ruled France from 1610-1643. By the age of 17 he was resentful at being excluded from power with d’Albert de Luynes by his side, he exiled his mother to Blois. She started two rebellions against him, but both were unsuccessful. In 1621 he faced another rebellion.  Richelieu was the cardinal at the time, he was a dominant influence in the government due to louis crippling state. The day of dupes lasted from November 10- 12 of 1630, Louis's mother wanted him to get rid of Richelieu because he was controlling at the decisions that his son makes .
